Couch’s Jewelers in historic downtown Anniston will hold a benefit event on Friday, December 13, from 9:30 until 5:30 featuring jewelry by designer Nina Nguyen. A portion of proceeds from all store sales this day will benefit Knox Concert Series’ educational outreach programming for “The Nutcracker.” It’s a great way to get holiday shopping done while supporting the Arts (and a local business)!

Each year, this benefit event generates funds that make it possible for volunteers to visit third grade classrooms throughout the region with the timeless, coming-of-age story of “The Nutcracker” while youth dancers engage students in ballet movements. These classroom visits prepare students for their upcoming field trip to one of three “School Days Performances” at the Anniston Performing Arts Center. Knox Concert Series is in its 38th year of presenting this event. This year, the event’s presenting sponsor is First Bank of Alabama. Premier sponsors include Wells Fargo, Libba S. Moore, and Publix Super Market Charities.

This year’s public performance of “The Nutcracker” is Sunday, Dec. 8, 2:00 P.M. at the Anniston Performing Arts Center. Link here to purchase tickets online or contact Pam McKenzie at 256-832-4554.

“I think all products should be made in a manner that benefits everyone involved. I would love for my jewelry to bring this message: That people should always be concerned with where the things they purchase come from, who made them, where the materials came from, how long they last, and what will become of it when its life is over.”
